Digital Revolution

One of the key changes which we are witnessing now is in the digital community. It is as if there is altogether new world which exist in the digital space..communities, cults, groups, opinion makers etc etc. There is this huge hulla gulla about the "power of social media/Internet". I agree. I saw this phenomenon first hand recently when i dealt with property brokers, relocators etc. Almost 100% of them used emails and had websites. Its amazing how quickly these service providers who are scattered all over, have adopted to change! the world is all going to be hovering around personal websites, Mobiles and laptop. Speed will be the in thing and non personal interactions for routine matters done thing. People will meet if that "adds value".... wow!! i can prophesies.

Parents

In life there are few things which are precious. One of them are our parents. Today when i dropped them in the station, i realised that. My father and I watched with amazement and awe the long line of passengers who waited in the scorching sun to get a seat in the general compartment. We remembered the days when both of us had to sit inside the toilet to travel to Jullunder to get my engineering admission..those were the days!!.. it brought back memories of all the sacrifices which our parents have done and will do to take care of us..the children. Still when we grow up..we sometimes find their presence irritating and sometimes we do feel little uncomfortable..we forget all those days and nights of struggle which they must have gone through...in some sense we have become selfish and self centered... we keep forgetting past!! we forget we too have kids and they too will grow up soon.... i am feeling guilty today for not able to understand and accept our parents as they are... i realise i have Long way to go before i stop feeling like this..

leadership

For long i have been wondering whats makes a good leader. Age? Exp?Knowledge?Looks?Class?... What i learn so far is certain qualities which are either inherent or which can be developed makes a good leader. One of then is Decisiveness. Take decision and take decision fast and clean. Period!

Social Media

Now here is new kid on the block "Social Media" ..it seems almost all around me is getting hyped at this new animal. I do believe that this is the thing of the future where almost all of us will be using net the way we use mobiles now. So the relevance of social media platforms becomes critical. Opinions can be generated, brand made into demi Gods, Brands massacred and business generated. It can be a tornado in the waiting!! I wanna be part of the revolution!

Yesterday and today i learnt a good lesson in relationship management... never take them for granted!

Kashmir

went to Srinagar after nearly two decades..it was such a beautiful site from the aircraft..the meadows, the snow capped mountains..and the fresh and crisp air...amazing!!..but when i landed the entire landscape was tarred with khakies and military fatigues...a blot on us and modern society which couldn't solve a problem. Sufferers, people like you and I and the sweet natives of that valley!!
